We do not operate a free-for-all play environment. Dogs are carefully grouped, monitored, and given breaks as needed.

While play is supervised, all group play carries inherent risk. We prioritize safety, structure, and staff awareness to minimize stress and prevent injury whenever possible.

Dog Daycare Eligibility Checklist

To ensure a safe and positive daycare experience for all dogs, Barker’s Cove requires that each daycare guest meet the following guidelines.

 

✅ Daycare Requirements

 

Your dog must:

☐ Be current on required vaccinations
☐ Be in good health and free from contagious illness
☐ Be comfortable around other dogs
☐ Be able to participate safely in supervised group play
☐ Be at least 4 months old (or as approved by staff)
☐ Be free from aggressive behavior toward dogs or people

 

🐕 Behavior & Social Skills

 

Daycare is best suited for dogs who:

☐ Enjoy social interaction
☐ Can be redirected by staff when excited
☐ Are comfortable sharing space with other dogs
☐ Do not exhibit excessive fear, stress, or reactivity in group settings

Dogs who show signs of stress, anxiety, or unsafe behavior may require:  Additional evaluation - Try our free "Meet and Greet" Day

 

🧓 Senior & Special-Care Dogs

We welcome senior dogs and dogs with special needs.

☐ Activity levels may be adjusted
☐ Additional rest breaks may be required
☐ Some dogs may participate in limited or modified play

Our staff is trained to recognize when dogs need a slower pace or extra support.

🚫 Not a Good Fit for Daycare

Daycare may not be appropriate for dogs who:

☐ Display aggressive or unpredictable behavior
☐ Are unable to be safely handled by staff
☐ Become highly stressed in group environments
☐ Have medical restrictions that limit group activity

For safety reasons, Barker’s Cove reserves the right to limit or discontinue daycare participation if a dog’s behavior or health changes.
